The restaurant is open daily from mid-May to mid-September

  • From Monday to Thursday fresh delicacies are prepared for you at lunchtime (kitchen times: 12pm to 2pm) and in the evening (kitchen times: 6:30pm to 9pm).

  • From Friday to Sunday, the restaurant is open continuously from midday (02:00pm to 06:00pm reduced menu).

Lake Mondsee is considered to be one of the Salzkammergut's biggest and most beautiful lakes. The bay, where you find Restaurant Maninseo and 5-star Hotel Seehof, is a very special gem: away from Mondsee town and the hustle and bustle and in the middle of the natural environment.

Maninseo – a historic name

In 748 the Bavarian duke Odilo laid foundation of today's town of Mondsee with Austria's first monastery. It was also the year when the name “Maninseo” was first mentioned together with the Latin translation “Lunaelacus” (“luna” meaning moon, “lacus” meaning lake).

It’s a true pleasure to eat at the Restaurant Maninseo. I stayed in Mondsee with friends and was lucky to spend a fantastic holiday in the Seehotel Mondsee and to get to know the Restaurant “Maninseo” there. During our five-day stay we spent wonderful evenings in the restaurant and enjoyed the monkfish fillets, but also the beef entrecote, among others. We can say: It was a joy, a pleasure and certainly a “I’d like more of it”. We enjoyed the mild days on the terrace with excellent service.

The location by the Mondsee in the middle of a fabulous park with old trees is beyond comparison. A nice restaurant with cosy rooms in bright colours and a beautiful terrace with a view of pink roses and the garden. The selection of dishes delights with many Austrian specialties, all of them classics, from baked calf’s head to Tafelspitz to Fiakergulasch, Wiener Schnitzel and baked chop from suckling pork or Reinanke, fried as a whole. After that a Tarte Tatin is delicious and as excellent as everything else. The preparation focuses on essentials, straight and careful, with skilled craftsmanship and confident seasoning.
